Mr Sok Than
Mr Sok Than (61) is working as a cyclo driver in Phnom Penh, to support his family who is living in the province.

In Phnom Penh we were looking for elderly who are still working independently of their family. One of the people we met was Mr. Sok Than, a 61 year old cyclo driver in Phnom Penh.

He told us: “I come to work in Phnom Penh almost 11 years already. Before I was a farmer.Because my rice field is so small, I cannot find enough money to pay for my family life, so I decided to work with cyclo in Phnom Penh city. My family is still living in the province, and I send them all the money I make here. I visit them once every 2-3 months. I earn between 7000 and 10.000 riel everyday with this work” (2 – 2,5 dollar).
