This is Nkek Chanrun. She lives with her daughter, husband and three grandchildren. They own a small shop that sells food and drinks. Her husband past away 10 years ago, when he was 90 years old. She was born in Phnom Penh, and went to school here where she learned French. Nkek has seven children, four live in Phnom Penh and the other three live in America. She is the happiest when everyone comes to Phnom Penh during Khmer new year. She looks ill and suffers from pain in her body. She says she does not do anything, but we only see her alone at the shop and helping customers when her daughter is gone.
